Oak Brook Little League Celebrates 54 Years

Oak Brook Little League was chartered in 1968, just 10 short years after Oak Brook was incorporated as a village.   Oak Brook Little League participants join more than 3 million young athletes that proudly wear the Little League emblem every summer.  Oak Brook’s affiliation with Little League Baseball shows a dedication to providing “wholesome, supervised activity and a genuine belief in the value of the Little League program.”   According to Oak Brook Little League President, Leo Danielides, the program embodies the traditions and pride of Oak Brook.  Outside of the schools programs, it is the only athletic program that is purely Oak Brook.  Teams consist of only Oak Brook resident athletes, and are coached and managed by resident parents. In addition, the league receives strong financial support from local businesses.   Oak Brook Little League baseball also has a long-standing relationship with the Oak Brook Park District.  Practices, and games take place at the Central Park ballfield complex.  “We are proud of this tradition and the prestige that comes from our community prioritizing this program for 50+ years,” says President Danielides. “We provide the opportunity for our kids, and our entire community, to experience America’s favorite pastime, the sport of baseball.”   Registration is currently open for Spring Training and Oak Brook Little League Baseball programs which include hitting and fielding training, Tee Ball League, Minor-Coach Pitch League, Minor-Player Pitch League, and Major League.
